  • wait who is the guy at 7:47 ranting about jews

  • @RzaChess Hello! That guy was Korchnoi's lawyer. He's not ranting about Jews, he's ranting about the fact that the Soviet Union was anti-Jewish, in his opinion.

  • @PabloDPena Maybe because he is lively in his commentary and exudes insight, eloquence, intellectuality, and humor?

  • Why does this French fruitcake dominate the entire documentary? Kind of spoils it.

  • Former World Champion Tal covering Korchnoi's press conference as an ordinary journalist....

  • @sawio5 The Berlin wall was not propaganda.

  • that guy at 00:47 looks like a weirdo. Why is he dressed like an NFL ref? He needs a shave.

  • Who is the guy at 11:40? He maintains that Karpov won the match because he refused to shake Korchnoi's hands. Is he serious? Lol

  • @sawio5 yea, it must have been a bit too easy to compose a movie like this in the late 70s. Karpov was clearly the best player but - no problem - we can just say that he is not as good as our American hero Fischer - who doesn't play so that there is no way to disprove this. Even though Karpov tried. Several times. Notice how one guy in the movie says that Karpov won the match because he refused to shake hand in the seventh game. REALLY? Jez... Karpov must have suffered back then.

  • great movie! They really badmouth Karpov though. He did not deserve that. He was the best player of his day, a worthy world-champion and a nice guy.

  • 1. Great movie

    2. Karpov is STILL my favorite chess player

    3. Please don't believe the propaganda against the USSR. It's just not true

  • Thank You for posting this great movie. I saw it about 15 years ago and have been looking for it. I even contacted the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to get a copy, but to no avail. Again Thanks.
