@Cetramarius I will not comment further because I can see clearly that you have been deluded by the very dynamics that deluded me long ago. I did not want to see the truth either and had to learn it my own way. So, I leave you to do the same or to stay where you are. Take it from a much older and experienced person, you will never learn karate with the JKA or it's lineages, they do not practice it even though they say they do, that is what delusion is.

@Cetramarius #2 You are not involved in karate because you have allowed others to define it for you just as I did. However, I saw contradictions and started studying karate and it's history in order to understand what I saw in the JKA that made little combative sense. That was 25 years ago and I have left the false doctrine of the JKA and entered the fascinating world of true karate, the karate of Okinawa. Maybe in time you will learn what kyogi te is and what karate really is but not in the JKA

@Cetramarius #1 Well, is that so. Maybe I should mention that I have trained and taught for 46 years. I am a life member of the JKA in Japan where I studied and have been licensed to teach by them. Otsuka was right on the mark because he had insight, something you lack. The JKA, by their admission, cares little for bunkai. And, bunkai play a huge role in understanding karate, something the JKA does not practice because they are a sport and have eliminated huge portions of original karate.

@IEKUKATAKA First of all, I have trained Karate for twelve years. Second of all, you are quoting the founder of Wado Ryu, which would never exist if it was not for Shotokan. His teachings does not apply to Shotokan, which is shown in this video. I´m a member of the biggest Karate organisation in the world. My remark was a fact. You seem to think bunkai is something others decide for you, and this is a clear misunderstanding.

@IEKUKATAKA Nobody "assigns" bunkai. Bunkai is subjective interpretation.

@ckhthd The bunkai the JKA assigns to their kata are nonsense. The tekki kata are much more interesting if the bunkai is studied as against the bo or ieku. See YouTube under Ohta Tekki Shodan to see what they really think of karate and kata. They are generally just full of crap. In case you may think I am uninformed, I am a JKA life member in Japan.
