Republica was a two-hit wonder - check out "Drop Dead Gorgeous". It's equally impressive.

A great one-hit wonder song. Republica were great but they just sort of dissappeared.

Wow. Wonderful. I'm impressed!

Strange and insane

Oh Yeah !! Ready to go......
Into retirement :(

Saffron has got a bit grittier over time. I like it! She can really sink her teeth into it now.
It's a heavy tune, guitar prominent, and deserving of a beefier vocal. Nice job, Republica!

Kick-ass music

@camhottylover If its a hit, follow the rules of the music industry, MILK EVERY DIME OUT OF IT!

The 1996 version is far better as far as the singing and actual music goes.

@camhottylover ... and it still rocks!

This is the soundtrack to my childhood. I like the little kick they gave it here it's actually pretty decent to listen to (I'm loving the guitars) but the original will always be the best for me :)

To be fair, it's a truly great single. I mean GREAT as in many many many fantastic bands write and play for decades and never accomplish that ONE song that becomes ubiquitous with a movement or with a period in time the way this song is. Republica probably wasn't a great band (Especially in the context of the 90's alternative which was immense) but they struck lightening in a bottle and they deserve the credit for doing so.
