its called a frontal boundary.. very common for ppl living in the midwest or if youre out on the open sea.. youre literally looking at the storm b4 it hits.

It's real. It's a wall cloud - it's not unusual in the great plains other than they usually show up in late afternoon. They are typically what spawn tornadoes and hail storms. You never ignore them.
