This demonstration is of the deepest parts of Gulf of Mexico, between 3400 meters and 4800 meters. The "Sigsbee Abyssal Plane" is often called the Grand Canyons of the Seas. The "De Soto Canyon" is located not far from the beaches of Pensacola in that direction. I used Terragen Deep for the 3D modeling and the animation, and Autodesk Combustion's particles for the water effect.

  • Thanks for your response. If I should have visualized the deep as it is, we would not be able to see anything but black and that's a bit boring. So I brought the light down to between 3400 and 4700 meters.
