Butter Crunch lettuce was germinated in a peat base plug. Two weeks after germination the butter crunch lettuce seedling was ready for transplant. We transplanted into this bucket that fits into the Emily's Garden deep water culture system. We used Growstones for our growing media because it wicks water, has lots of air in between and inside each aggregate and is an eco-friendly product made from recycled glass bottles. And it is made right here in the USA. With adequate light and nutrients, 45 days days from today we'll be ready to make our own home grown salad. Updates on the lettuce growth coming soon.
