For the past month, the city of Wayzata has been trying to appeal to the United States Postal Service in hopes of keeping the Wayzata Post Office in service.
In September, the USPS announced that the Wayzata branch was one that it was looking to sell.
Mayor Ken Willcox e-mailed me this morning to let me know that he had received an e-mail from Rep. Erik Paulsen's office that had the latest list of properties the USPS was looking to move. Wayzata was not included on that list, as were no other Minnesota branches.
The e-mail, from John Paul Yates, said that Paulsen's office is "investigating to make sure this is accurate and the full story."
Willcox followed up later this morning indicating that he'd spoken with another person that has looked into the issue before and that person noted that it could easily be that there are two lists floating around for two different plans, as has been the case in the past.
Any further word on the fate of the Wayzata Post Office can be found right here on mnsun.com.
