over 5,000rpm using four AA batteries, two ball bearings, small screw, fine copper wire and neo magnets. Homopolar rotation is caused when current flows through the metal jacket of the neo magnet. This causes a perpendicular right handed force (Lorentz Law). WHY this occurs is still a mystery to science. The right hand spin is possibly a universal force and is closely connected to both electrical current and magnetic fields and may also be responsible for gravitational and inertial effects.

  • gostei, muito bom, mostrar o q é magnetismo na ciência,

  • @Linus100sual whaaa?

  • Why don't you set it up so that its more like 4 car batteries, with the same setup as currently, and then have the wire set up so it cna connect without you holding it up.

Then leave it going until it hits light speed and creats a wormhole and enter this worm hole and get some space weed and bring it back to Earth and sell it for 100,000,000 a gram.

  • @TheSmartestTaco ... I got the four car batteries ... and man are my neighbors pissed ;0)

  • What would happen if you grabbed the ball at that speed?

  • @Robbskunky ... read my lips ... aint gonna dew it :o*

  • nice

  • lol homopolar

  • How is this a world record? Did you know that dental drills operate at over 500,000 RPM? Yeah that's 100 times faster than your "world record". It is like comparing the speed of a walking person to that of a jet liner.

  • the surface speed is only about 18 mph. not as crazy as you guys all think. 5,000 rpm is not worl drecord for all motors tho. many motors can go to 50,000 rpm+

  • 5000 rpm is a world record?

  • @TheSmartestTaco 4 car batteries would melt that screw.

  • @helpmonkey lol this was so clever it nearly killed me

  • how do you know they were 5,000 rpm?

  • @TheSmartestTaco WTF? LOL Give me a Sample of that shit!
