SickBeard is an amazingly powerful Addon for SABnzbd+ that allows you to select your favorite shows and have them automatically downloaded for you. It is very customizable and will allow you to maintain your TV collection with ease. Having said that, actually getting it up and running can be a bit on the tricky side. This guide breaks down the process into several different steps which are easy to understand. Follow the instructions and you will have all of your favorite shows being downloaded for you automatically before you know it!

00:17 - Section 01: Install Cheetah
02:35 - Section 02: Install Git
03:52 - Section 03: Install SickBeard
07:06 - Section 04: Configure SickBeard
15:12 - Section 05: Getting SABnzbd+ to talk to SickBeard with Scripts

  • Do you have to keep terminal running for sickbeard to work? As it is, when I try quitting terminal, I get a warning that closing terminal will terminate the running processes "login, bash, python???"

  • I got the Scripts folder to show, but sab does not give me an option to select the scripts, it just shows None or Standard. So it does not see the .py scripts.

    Can anyone help me? :(

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I set it up and rather than choosing the script from the menu, I typed in the name of the script and Sickbeard had Sab+ downloading my shows. I realized that it wasn't doing the script, so I had to go in and add the script folder. I would have saved time if I had read the comments, but I figured it out

  • So when im downloading ANYTHING on SABNzbd, do i have to select the category EVERY time? So lets say im downloading a movie and a tv show. They both just show up as the default category.

  • Thanks for the tut you probably saved me from days of research and headaches. The only snag I ran into is the scripts column was not showing up in categories and thanks to @ drkilcourse comment " go open SAB go to Config>Folders>(Post-Processing Scripts Folder) and enter: "Library/application support/Sabnzbd/scripts" It now shows up. Great Job and thanks again!

  • @MIBjeWEB thanks a hundred times! you made my day =) let the downloading begin!

  • @Thequilo i found the solution,

i used the path that drkilcourse gave but it wasn't the right path for me, find the exact path via Terminal.

  • @Thequilo i have the same issue, i hope there is a solution.

(at first the scripts column didn't even show at all but then i got it to show thanks to drkilcourse's explanation)

  • thanks a lot for the video tutorial btw, very good work!

  • I've done everything exactly as described in the video and at about 19:20 where I have to select 'sabToSickBeard.py' I am only able to choose between 'Default' and 'None' what can I do?
