Mohawk Blonde brush is 35 years old-no link to this brush. It's a stiff brush with a wooden base.
I mainly use it to distribute oils like coconut, jojoba to my hair by rubbing the oil on the bristles and brushing it through.
BRUSHES:
There are many BBB available in stores(USA) beauty supply stores like Sally's and stores like Bed Bath and Beyond, Ulta, even Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Target! It's always better to be able to feel the firmness of the bristles. Some people with fine hair have trouble with BBB so they should seek a softer bristle.
When you order online you can't always know the firmness of the bristles.
My 2 paddle style BBB, Whirler & Earth Theraputic are a bit more gentle than the Madora BBB which is very stiff with a wooden base. I use the stiffer brush for scalp stimulation.
ALL colors of bristles, blonde/brown/black vary in stiffness.
COMBS:
I started wide tooth combing in 2005 after learning the benefits from a long hair expert. The biggie was to only comb wet hair. Good wide tooth combs are a little harder to find in stores, but it seems that more companies have been making them in the last couple years. You can find Goody, Conair and Scunci combs now.
If you can, get a Madora or Hairsense bone comb because they are really great.
I like the combs with no handle. Why? It gives more of a hand hair connection and I can detect a knot faster.
Note-These combs and brushes in the video are the best of my collection and mostly still available to buy.(2012)
A good comb or brush will last you a long time! Your hair is worth it.
The most I paid for a comb or brush was 30.00.

Cubelixa: Interesting that you oil your wooden comb.Wouldn't the oils get old and rancid in the comb after a while? I have a TT but have only used it once. The sound it made was horrible. lol

TheBritishCuppa: Comb first to detangle. Brush after. I comb and brush as needed and everyone is different. I wear my hair up so it keeps hair neat. More details on this in upcoming video.
