I have been playing the bongos for two months now. A nice song from the album "Samba is our gift" from The Ipanemas from Brazil. This kind of music is new to me so I try to find my own way here! Thanks for watching.

  • You're good

    How do you practice?

  • Thanks ichigoemi, you are good too! How I practice? Well, I don't have lessons or something so I put on some music I like and sit down and see what my fingers will do on the bongos! It's all a matter of feeling I guess. Just sit down, listen to the music and try to be creative. Try to express what you feel! That's how it works for me.

    Greetings from the Netherlands, Cobi

  • love your style of playing the various drums. i think this is very tasteful and dainty in a nice way.

  • Thanks Bibi! Good to hear something from a woman. Yes I know I don't hit the drums as hard as the "boys" but I guess this is my style of playing. Maybe it will change in time... I just have been playing for three months without any lessons. It's a pity there are no women who want to give the bongos a try... before you know it you are hooked! It's very addictive!! Thanks again and love from the Netherlands, cobi

  • I will send you my flag of Brasil! Btw ... Have you heard Girl from Ipanema? I found a version on youtube with Lou Rawls singing a cover of it. Wow. It's a slow tune but a very nice groove. Anyway, your video is a good selection. You have a nice choice in music for playing percussion. I need some new music in the house. Thanks for sharing your collection and most of all for your bongo playing! I played some today but my back was hurting and I was bummed out for lack of inspiration music.

  • Keep the flag! You'll look "naked" without! hehe The girl of Ipanema is a favorite of mine. I've heard many versions. Take it easy and keep the beat. Thanks for your support!

  • Quanta emocao.

  • Great choice indeed! You've got a good, steady beat going, and your rolls are quite good. By the way, you're playing the bongos the "right way"--while some beats start on the hembra (the larger drum), the vast majority of them start on the macho (the smaller) drum...

Excellent job, me sista! (yeah, bongorilao, I've been hangin' around you a lot lately! LOL)

  • Are you guys talking of Brazil, rsrsrs.
