Spinal cord injuries are often physically and emotionally challenging. A spinal cord injury can also have a profound affect on the friends and family of the survivor. As many as 11,000 Americans sustain a spinal cord injury each year with motor vehicle accidents, slips and falls and sports or recreation activities causing a majority of the injuries.

  • Like, there is no sense to be made of such an injury. Those folks who are grievously afflicted as such are absolutely hosed. So sad, babes!

  • Every time I watch a YouTube video of idiotic teenage boys and young adult men doing stupid, dangerous things on skateboards, motorcycles, ATVs, and so on, I wish every one of them was forced to watch this video. Repeatedly.

    Unfortunately, not one of them considers this could happen to them. Instead, they view injuries as marks of bravado and superiority - unless it's paralysis. But, again, they "know" this can't happen to them.
