@italianboy676 You can use regular water, but the humidifier won't last as long, and so distilled water is best.

After I install one of these humidifiers, can i place my guitar sideways? other than just laying it on its back?

It depends on your case and how tightly it holds the humidifier in. For example, if you have a flat case, it may work fine, but if you have an archtop case with extra space, the humidifier may come loose.

Hello.
Low humidity can cause the wood to crack, resulting in damage. Also, particularly with an acoustic, a "dry" guitar will have a weak and tinny sound. Using a humidifier will help to avoid these problems.
