This weeks technique is "Shuan". Shuan means to stir or whip or spin...so i guess we could translate it as a whipping throw.

Pay attention to the whipping motion because it is common in Shuaijiao and something that i am still coming to grips with

Go for gold!
Michael

ps. write me if you want to come to come with us to watch the Shuaijiao Nationals in the Mongolian Grasslands this summer.

  • Great clips and the translation is priceless. For timelessness sake and clarity (there may be some Chinese speakers listening), can you PLEASE drop the music tracks? I know it's considered cool on youtube to add rap music to every video known to humankind, but....it's getting old...sorry for the whine. : ) Keep the videos come in!!

  • will do... i was concerned that non-chinese speakers would be bored

  • thanks for the technique ! i didn't even know putonghua had such a sound as "shuan"...

  • the i have to take you for some Beijing Shuan Yang Rou then... Lamb Hotpot Beijing Style.

We should go with Coach Li as he is a Muslim and muslim shuan yangrou is the best!!!

  • This is the same throw as Judo's O-Goshi (major hip throw). This same technique is in Judo.

  • The thrower is sloppy and putting too many parts into his throw. It's like he's not close enough to his partner and his angles are not set up BEFORE he starts his throw. GJC

  • These videos are awesome thankyou man!

  • any new tech of the week?

  • grappling has actually saved my life more than once.....
