Running lean also cause higher exhaust temperature. So your car emission would went bad, more NOX and shorten CAT life. There are ways to working around this to use 3 inch MAF without problem but it's involve ECU reflash. You need to change MAF Table in ECU which is for 2.5 inch MAF to 3 inch MAF. I could reflash Mazda ECU by myself but I'm not recommend it.

@bpm03 You're living in Florida, aren't you. Why don't you looking for Takeda Air Intake? I living in Thailand. So I suggest you buy Takeda Air Intake instead. Running Lead will damage your engine, It cause too much heat in combustion chamber and fry engine valves.
