On the Gulf side the water is fine. No gurrent except for the lower end of the island near the lighthouse. Sharks are only a problem when Tarpon are spawning. Never saw a jellyfish. That's okay if you don't like it. Stay away. The fewer tourists the better.

if ya visit hear don't worry about leaving your garbage on the side of the road. They like it. Gives the old rich people something to do. The reason the beach is so abandoned is ya can't swim there current, sharks ,jellyfish, pollution. They don't want anybody to know about. Alot of bacteria in the water.
