Sharing my camino experience in spring of 2008. I started at Lourdes, France and went to Saint Jean Pied de Port, then to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

  • hi, i walked a piece of the camino last year. and now i would like to ride it. i have a bike but what i was wondering is weather yours got damaged on the journey or not, and if it did was it easy to repair? thanks. great video by the way much enjoyed.

  • @escottproductions i didn't encounter any serious problem fortunately. the 1st trouble i had was a wiggling rear wheel. i brought it to a sports shop in sjpdp for an overall check b4 crossing the pyrenees. the 2nd trouble was the noise. i had to apply grease more often esp after rain on the road. the 3rd was the tangled chain. they're all very minor, and there were bike shops in almost every town i spent the night in. but i had my repair kit & an extra tubing just in case...

  • You did it all alone, and enjoyed it to the max! I salute you, thumbs up :-)

  • @smig03

    Thanks!

Well, the truth is I almost turned back prior to my first day. It took a lot of courage :)

  • Hello. I am a teacher and I used your video to show about people on pilgrimages (not sure if yours was one or not). They are 8-9 year olds and they loved it and kept asking to see it again and even pretended to be you and wrote postcards home saying what they liked about their journey.

Anyway I made my own video, inspired by yours, even stole the song, sorry! Fitted our feelings so well.

Put 'Jack Taylor Tandem' into the youtube search and I think we're the 2nd clip. Cheers mate.

Thank you for watching this video. I watched your video too and it made me feel like wanting to go out there again. I hope those pupils of yours do some pilgrimage one day... :)

  • @raymackey - it took me 13 days. that includes the 2 days of rest.

  • Wonderful! How long did it take you to cover the distance from St. Jean to Santiago? (I'm doing it in June!)

  • @cb400vs9698 :)
