Doug Camozzi enjoys a day out on the gorgeous water of Turks and Caicos islands. Coming to Turks and Caicos 17 years ago was just the beginning of a very long relationship with the most beautiful ski destination in the world.

Doug Camozzi, founder of Nautique Sports in Providenciales, started as a snow skier in Winter Park Colorado at the very young age of 3. Growing up in Littleton Colorado, Doug was an early member in the Eskimo Ski Club and rapidly made his move up the ladder and advanced his snow skiing to an elite group of freestyle skiers and at 20, his skiing lead him to compete in the World Pro Mogul Tour for 6 years.

But Water is what captivated Doug and when he landed in Turks and Caicos, it was evident that something big had to happen there. Doug moved into waterski and barefoot at Cherry Creek Reservoir in Denver on a very cold morning with a couple of die hard friends who used to ski in the fall to avoid the crowds at the lake. Well this fall day happened to be 38 degrees and water temperature was just slightly higher. For his first lesson in barefoot skiing, Doug and his 2 buddies had a pot of hot water on the boat to thaw ones feet after the brief attempt on the fridged waters of the reservoir. Doug remembers saying, the edges of the lake were frozen, it was snowing, we are all in dry suits with 3 layers of flannel underneath and we are barefooting! Whats wrong with this picture? From that day on, he knew that we would wind up looking for warmer waters.

Turks and Caicos was just the place. Miles and miles of glassy shoreline protected by coral reef that surrounds the island, makes this a waterski Utopia! Doug has been skiing in Turks for 17 years and says that there isnt a day on the water there, even rough conditions that make you ever want to ski anywhere else! This is truly the most beautiful place one can ski or ride. Miles of white sandy beaches with miles of light turquoise colored water. There are days that are so flat that when you are skiing, you can look down and see starfish, conch shells and schools of fish scatter as you borrow just a piece of their territory!

USA Water ski and AWSA member for over 15 years, Doug is a level II instructor. He is here for your enjoyment in the sport of Water ski, Barefoot and Wakeboard. There is always room for riders and skiers in one of Nautiques Mastercraft ski boats. When you are on his boats you feel like you are home on your lake. Easy going and always joking, Doug will make your trip to Turks and Caicos a memorable one!
