People are not being educated they're being tested for levels of obedience. School is about memorizing what you are told short term and repeating it. The bulk of how you are graded is by completely daily busy work. This is for the work force the most important quality in a worker bee actually is obedience.

You miss the whole point of her speech - the public education system served you well

It's not a pyramid scheme, it is a scheme dependent on availability of high energy density fuels & raw materials. Most of the world is enjoying increasing prosperity -in only 30 years India has created a mid class larger than USA & Canada's combined due to traditional style edu & market reforms. Just recently India ceased petroleum subsidy. India is a top tier launchpad for satelites. China's middle class threatens the hegemony of the communist party. Often culture, not location is the prob.

Tort law & insurance covers the matter of negligence. Surgery can't be performed without risk and is often a last resort because of the risk & because outcomes can't be guaranteed. Earth is not Utopia. If you want to enjoy good prosperity all you have to do is pursue high organization of knowledge. In the book/movie Siddhartha, Siddhartha prospered cuz he excelled in math and then organized a commodities network using his knowledge & friendly personality & another man's capital.

Oh come on. Children are not kept intentionally ignorant of how biz works in the modern world. It's workings are all around & there's tons of free info, plus often parents are running a biz or working in one and know how it works, and can explain that to children. A child's maturity level often limits how much biz info they can grasp, until around 16 yrs, for some much later. The government is not supposed to do everything, nor please everyone. USA in fact is based on negative rights, so.....

Education would probably be better if it taught how to think rationally and critically, as well as how and where to find true information, not learning provided 'facts' by rote for mere regurgitation.

And capitalism is not taught in public schools and children are intentionally kept ignorant. How does that intentional ignorance promote the general welfare of the nation, one of the raisons de etre for American governance?

Yes, a doctor is trained to do a job. When a doctor performs what appears to be a successful surgery and the patient contracts a virus (e.g. MRSA) because the doctor performed in an unsterile environment, and dies as a result of the contracted disease, that surgery is not a successful surgery. The doctor did not do the proper maintenance to ensure a sterile environment. Should the doctor then be required to support the patient's surviving spouse and children?

Again, offered is not required. The question remains, why is the teaching of capitalism and entrepreneurship (i.e. the nation's economic) not a required subject in public education? Or perhaps more bluntly put, why are American children intentionally being kept in ignornace through public education?

Simply put, such practice is at the base of the tyranny of government.
