PPSF is fiber-pigtailed to SMF at each end.

Tunable Laser Source is used to wavelength-scan the PPSF from 1510-1640nm. Stokes parameters of the output light are measured with polarimeter.

Each of the 4 experimental runs are done with different arrangement/placement of the input SMF pigtail.

The solid lines are the fitting circles. The small coloured dots are experimental data points
Colour Scheme is : CMYKB (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Blue)
The values for the calculated birefringence (n_x - n_y) are:
C: -1.931e-5,
M: -1.844e-5
Y: -1.799e-5
K: -1.716e-5

The big dots represent the principle states of polarization/DES/whatever...
The PSPs are:
C:-0.9510, -0.2317, 0.2046
M:-0.9143, -0.3188, 0.2497
Y:-0.9148, -0.2787, 0.2923
K:-0.9510, -0.2074, 0.2293
