  • I always read in the internet about history of guitar-like instrument in small jazz ensemble in the pre-amplification era, and in this video I finally can see with my eyes what I always read: an acoustic archtop guitar in the rhythm section (that replaced the banjo) and also a resophonic guitar. Thanks for posting

  • Definately not my style, but man, you sure can't argue with skills like Django's... and all of this with two fused finger... What an AMAZING player he is. His stylings infulenced SO many players in future generations.

  • @gr0mithtimon I'm Amercian, but some of the finest jazz musicians I ever had the opportunity to play with were from all over Europe, including the eastern block countries and Russia. Also there's some killer South African and British jazz musicans. If a musician has real talent and a burning to play JAZZ, it doesn't matter where they're from.

  • Es que Django es mucho Django. Ahora nos queda Birelli Lagrene

  • In 3 years they would all have been invaded and living under the Nazis who banned jazz. One wonders what became of them all.

  • Check out the drummers pancake hi-hat. It was used until Gene Krupa came up with the modern day hi-hat in use today……

  • that dude had attitude , boppin his head like that !

  • @gr0mithtimon i still think that it sounds too close to home specifically the rhythm guitar strumming.

  • @cyrus138

I don't claim the music of Django has nothing to do with America, i said his style is not an American style. Like all musicians he was influenced by those who came before him and he is very much connected to American music via his American predecessors, some of whom he admired greatly.

  • @gr0mithtimon right and i suppose the stones & beatles got nothing to do with the blues.
