Remember Fireball XL5 from the early 1960s? I've been practicing my video editing skills. This is what it would look like if they'd had music videos back then.
The cool thing about Fireball is that you just gotta ride with it. "Take my Oxygen pills?" Why of course Venus, how silly of me, everyone knows we should take our Oxygen pills before going into space. I've often wondered how that would work, or be depicted in a live action version. Strangely though, the matter-of-factness of Fireball you just accept that Oxygen pills work. :P
Amazing stuff, as a kid and even today i love fireball soundtrack. i miss my childhood days when i would just wait to watch this program..my evergreen favorite
Wow this is great! This was the show that got me hooked on space travel and space in general, can it be 40+years?! It'd never go on TV today, it's well written, well produced and there's no sex, no potty jokes, no swearing or constant selling of products. Thanks for posting.
@Nicci75 Probably because writing shows such as "Fireball XL-5" would require imagination and intellegence to entertain kids rather than to sell toys, cereal, and other crap to them. Otherwise they have to be politically correct and/or teach some "valuable" moral lesson to them. When I saw this as a kid. it was "good guys v. bad guys" and the good guys usually (99%) won. Take care & thanx.
Good job at compiling these clips and coordinating them with the theme song. It's great fun to share childhood memories with others for whom this show was part of the Saturday morning routine way back then. Why don't current TV shows have such catchy songs?
@mguyvig Great and catchy lyrics and music will stick in one's head! I can remember singing to certain commericals from back then that still stuck in my head!

@mguyvig no worring about the effects of Newtonian or Einsteinian physics either. If they did it, it was possible. And that was that.

Space travel was so much easier in the early 60's. No cumbersome spacesuits or helmets required, and no weightless issues. Gotta love Fireball XL5!

God, this takes me back! Worryingly, I can still remember all the words to the song! Great stuff!
