Taxi on the Sidewalk in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

We were trying to take a taxi to Khast-Imam, Tashkent. Of course we were hopelessly lost and facing the wrong way. The taxi, instead of driving along the road and turning around further up, decided to drive along the sidewalk.

Just so you all know: if you want to impress the people in Tashkent, speak Russian, not Uzbek, since Russian is the majority language (i.e. the mother tongue of most people). In fact, many people are completely unable to converese in Uzbek, and even though Uzbek is the official language, websites related to Tashkent (like the metro) are usually in Russian and NOT Uzbek.
