As we are seeing each day, the BP Deepwater Horizon oil platform blowout is a stark reminder that offshore oil drilling poses significant risks for people and marine ecosystems. Lets heed the lessons of BP Deepwater. We need a timeout in the Arctic. Until we know with absolute certainty the causes of this disaster and how to prevent another, there must be no new drilling. Exploratory efforts in regions like the Arctic should be put on hold. And, Congress must not open any new areas to drilling.
@Eternalsummersong this worries me to :(

I think this is an excellent video, I hope to God Obama listens. But there's still a nagging in the back of my head, that some how, congress, or whoever will not care. The impression I'm getting at the moment tells me that when this issue has passed, they will continue to drill off shore. I really feel like there is no hope for this earth... It's just how I feel...Maybe thing's will turn out differently..

I think it would be amazing if people spent more time helping other people instead of regulating them. As we go and make rules against drilling in the US, trust me there will be drilling by state governments to supply their armies. It is not the cars that need it the most or the consumers, but the standing armies. Limit the size of government and you will limit the push for more and more reserves.
