3rd Grade Swim Program
Summary--Strategic Plan
The Goal:
To provide swimming and water safety instruction to all third grade students within a 15 mile radius of the Coeur d'Alene Kroc Center.
The Plan:
To partner with schools and families to share the costs of instruction and transportation.
To reduce program costs and ensure opportunity for all by securing scholarship funds.
The Reality:
There are currently 250 third graders registered to participate in the program.
The Opportunity:
There are approximately 1200 third grade children who reside within a 15 mile radius of the Kroc Center who could benefit from this program.
The Benefit:
A joyful and memorable childhood experience that builds confidence, safety, and skill in and around water.
The Result:
To reduce the number of accidents and deaths related to water activities in our region.
Video Narrative:
Research states if a child does not learn to swim by 3rd grade it is likely that he or she never will. To meet this need, The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center in Coeur d'Alene gives scholarship swim lessons to third graders. This year students from five schools will receive instruction on swimming skills and basic water safety and rescue techniques. Please help save lives by granting funds to continue and expand the 3rd Grade Swim Program at the Kroc Center. Thank you!
