Technology Ed. at Orchard Park High School - Mr. Kennedy's Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) class project for the fall 2008 semester was to design, machine, assemble and test a conveyor belt with laser beam part detector circuit. The project was modeled in AutoCAD Inventor, code was written with MasterCAM and machined with a Light CNC router. A photo resistor, in a voltage divider circuit, provides the digital high for the PICAXE 18x microprocessor circuit. The Yenka program was used to emulate the laser circuit and program the microprocessor. A delay is programmed to allow our robotic arm to pick up the part and move it to the next station. This project was built, adding to our spring 2008 robotic arm project.
