@Thaliador it depends on the style you practice, there are kali systems looking like silat and there are other kali styles that looks very different to silat.

to all illussionares out there research more about about fma history first so you could learn the art right. there are no activities of conflict in western visayas before, during or after the spaniards have landed. so how could a so called warrior originated in negros? the only thing that's fighting there are the revolutionary movement and fighting cocks!...it's the reason gm. presas learn karate and judo first prior to fma. LAPU-PAPU & MAGELLAN did not meet face to face in that area!

@Thaliador Kali and Silat Both have a large number of different "styles" or systems and in some of the systems, the techniques and concepts compliment each other vary well, I knowof many teachers that blend the two arts because they do compliment each other quite well. To say that kali and Silat are very different is Not completely true. many of the "techniques" look different but the "concepts are very simllar
