@superdudeman007 BTW The ad was a TVNZ one, not a BBC one.

having just last week finished working for tvnz as a presentation director I can tell you that A: this is real, B: BBC World is TV 1's backup feed for use on air, TVNZ have paid for the rights to use it not only in overnights, but also as a breakdown source. In this scenario it appears as though there was a problem either in going back to suite 4 (where the news is broadcast from) or somewhere else, rather than put black to air, the director opted for breakdown. Quite standard but not frequent.

the wether going of was funny hahahahahahaha

Interesting I remember they used to have an image of the TV kiwi when TV1 or 2 had technical problems. I remember one had an image of the kiwi sticking a broom through a TV monitor and another of the kiwi with film reel all over the place. Otherwise they used to just display the channel logo with music in the background. Going to BBC World would have just confused the viewers.

"was" a proud British colony!

I loved the old BBC weather-intro thingy! What happened to it?

Damn, it was far more entertaining in the 80s when transmission broke!!! I remember them once slipping in a few music videos due to an outage!!!

this guy is such an idiot...

even i could tell this was real mrsuperdudeman007 ... i think you owe an apology on here ...
You did that yourself to make it LOOK like there were bloopers. BBC World News wouldn't advertise Loreal and the guy with the aussie accent isn't from the BBC - you can tell by the tacky set. A crap attempt to be fair.

Nope, that is how it broadcast. TVNZ goes to BBCWorld overnight, from midnight till six. If your station was unable to switch back to the studio, and your server was locked, then it's only natural to switch to a satellite feed.
