  • Do you have to keep the flashdrive in the computer or can you take it out once it is finished?

  • @Ericiscutie Great question: ReadyBoost serves as a repository for non-critical files only, so you can remove the USB stick at any time without having to worry about corrupting system files, or crashing the entire computer. Reinserting the USB drive into the computer will allow it to reassume its ReadyBoost abilities automatically.

  • @getconnectedtvshow So if i take the USB out. I still have have the amount of RAM. Like I have 1 GB of RAM, and I wanted to put in a 4 GB flahdrive. If i put it in and used ReadyBoost and then took it out will it have 5GB of ram or do I have to keep the flahsdrive in to count as RAM.

  • @Ericiscutie These are technical questions that I am not really qualified to answer. Try messaging @TuneUp4Windows, I think they might be able to answer your questions regarding ReadyBoost. I hope that helps.

  • Would've been nice to see some benchmarks or tests. All this really did was tell me exactly what's on the Windows 7 home page for ReadyBoost. Good promo, but not really any kind of feature review.

  • @ZeroCorpse We try to keep our reviews pretty simple and basic because we want to cater to everyday computer users. But your right - some benchmark or tests would help demonstrate how effective ReadyBoost really is. Thanks for your comments, your point is well taken.

  • @Ericiscutie the flashdrive needs to be connected if you want the extra RAM.

  • yeah but how do you format to exFAT!!!!

  • @melandor0 ok. but will ready boost be benificial at all or not? as i dont wana buy a flash drive it it will hav no affect to anything at all

  • @Hodgy

Specs shouldn't be a problem. You need to format your computer. I'll chop my arms off for you if that doesn't solve it.

  • my computer specs

    intel i5 750 - 2.5ghz bnut can go to 3.0 if needed

    hd radeon 5850

    4g ram

    120gb spare on hd

when i play a game (apb) it runs very slow when i shut the game down, even though my computer is better than the recommended hardware.

my question is, if i buy a flash drive to allow for ready boost, will it help my computer run normally when i close the game down? or will it not make much of a difference?

    thanks for any responce
