This guy is overrated. He's good at what he's doing, but as a drummer overall he's stylistically limited. Talking about black metal drumming, Hellhammer is faster and has a much more musical approach and isn't stylistically limited.

Kjetil Haraldstad doesn't plays in Carpathian Forest.

I think some drummers can do the same speed as Frost and maybe even faster than him; Hellhammer, Steve Asheim,Pete Sandoval,Inferno, just to mention some. But definitely Lars Ulrich,Joey Jordison, CANNOT do something like this; not to desrespect them because they are awesome drummers as well, neither to desrespect the fans who think otherwise. But one think for sure Frost is a tremendous drummer. i always liked his style especially when he's with 1349.

@EvilSupremacy666 Yes, you are right... I'm just answering at persons who think that Frost is a better drummer than Hellhammer... Frost is only different, with probably more soul, but he's absolutely not better than Hellhammer... Jan Axel is on another planet for technique and speed, but Kjetil has more intensity and soul, and he's more rude and seminal... Von Blomberg is a jazz-metal drummer...

I've been listening to black metal since the satanic hordes came screaming out of Norway with it and though I rate HH very highly I personally prefer frost, just as in your opinion HH is the better drummer. See it's all a matter of perspective, they are both amazing musicians in their own right and you shouldn't be demeaning either of their talent with the 'my drummer is better then yours' bull.

@b3nf1tzg3ra1d Well, in metal-rock music, Hellhammer is the most technical drummer and the most creative, believe me, and only George Kollias, maybe, is like him... Yes, Frost has more "soul" than HH, but in terms of technique and speed, Frost is a punk drummer compared to HH... You like only HH's drumming in Arcturus? Have you heard Winds, Shining, Age Of Silence, Jorn Lande, Carnivora and more, with HH on drums? In Mayhem he's fantastic, don't you think?

Lars could do that.

@MrAlucard222 In terms of sheer speed, yes HH is faster. However, what Frost might very well have on HH is a more "primal" style in terms of songwriting, and seems to fit VERY well in whatever band he plays with (new-satyricon obviously doesn't count). I honestly only really like HH's drumming in Arcturus. There are far more creative drummers than HH. Frost for example brings INTENSITY to the music.

To be honest, this isn't even that fast for him. Or for any average extreme metal drummer. There are plenty of songs where he plays a whole fucking lot faster than this.
