In the New Jersey Nets' first home Finals game in 26 years (since their ABA days), Jason Kidd authored a spectacular performance scoring 30 points, dishing 10 assists, grabbing 5 rebounds and racking up 3 steals on 13-23 shooting.
Kidd's 4th-quarter brilliance (11 pts and 4 assists) put the Nets in a great position to win - with a 3-point lead with less than 5 minutes remaining - but ultimately the dominance of the Lakers was too much and LA would claim a 106-103 victory to take a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals. The Lakers completed their sweep 3 nights later to win their 3rd consecutive NBA title.
