well, I worked as a nurse for a long time.I have seen people come in with their advance directives in order.most of saying they want to be kept comfortable.Then the families come in and override these orders. and the next thing you know these people are going through unwanted tests and chemo,radiation all because that's what the family wants. not realizing that this is causing more suffering and pain.But, doing it for their own selfish reason to keep their loved one alive at any cost.

we are supposed to allow sufferers of life support to end it, but sufferers of depression are not allowed to, to end your life saving someone elses is heroism, jesus did it, but if it turns out jesus didn't have the ear of god, are we supposed to be angry at him? did he 'hurt' us, suiciders spend a lot to get the benefits they preceive from it, and after the fact, the ones that 'love them, want to deny them of those benefits... whatever

when all their loved one wants is peace and to be free from all this nonsense.I watched one man who wanted no tube feeding,and his family overrode his want. and had a tube put in. when he woke up and seen the tube and followed it with his hand to the pump and realized what it was he began to cry. the next day he was gone.And his family thought that they were doing the right thing for him. It turns out they did not they did what made them feel better.not taking into consideration his feelings.
