What a load of BS. The power sector will be carbon dependent forever. The only feasible alternative is nuclear power and it is far more destructive to the environment than carbon. Global warming is a scam to make some people very rich and most people very poor.

The task of updating the energy grid in the United States is underway...Smart Grid helps to achieve reliability and efficiency in the energy distribution network. Smart Grid has the potential to accommodate alternate sources of energy like wind power. Transformer company, Pacific Crest Transformers has whitepapers and articles related to this.
