1776 Declaration of Independence is a sacred document that claim independence from England. England was the controler of the 13 colonies. Thomas Jeffersona and other put their feels in writing which became the Declaration of Independence. There were agruments that the document should proclaim against slavery because it talked about the equal rights and equality of man.
