  • Its semi-staggering to see these guys who were all once wreckless black metal musicians who did all this stuff or were involved with it in some way are all grown up and talking more or less about stupid the scene and certain individuals were. the music has been immortalized, but some of the people seriously were just retarded.

  • Christianity and the Church has done so much to Norway. Norway should never become a Christian country, and the way it became christian is horrible. They've burned down so many historic buildings from before year 1000, so I think that every norwegian owes them a burned down church or two.

But burning churches just makes us just as worse than them. There's better, more effective ways of making Norway an unchristian country again.

  • Its Norway

  • There is no sunlight, lets burn a church.

  • @Hanso661 The worst humiliation we as a people can place upon christianity as a religion is not to burn down their houses, but to ignore them. Go to a church today, and 95% of the atendees are 70 years or older. Rest assured in 30 years time society itself will have done more than Mayhem ever did in secularizing society.

  • @Hanso661 As far as what is Swedish/finnish/norwegian/whatever. Whatever we think is "scandinavian" will be scandinavian.

A thousand years ago christianity killed norse mythology, today we kill christianity. With reason. That seems to be a trademark of ours, even though our heritage, by now, is both christian and norse.

We make our culture. And it has always had other influences. And always will. And we always seem to remember the past too... So I don't agree with you fully.

  • @Hanso661 I understand. I'm swedish so...

But still, a christmas tree seems like a pretty small thing compared to... The vatican for example.

I even think that the christmas tree stems from heathen traditions and not only christian ones. It's all entangled by now.

  • @JtK27 but in a small country with kebabshops everywhere, middle-east inspired furniture, american fastfood, israelic religion, american tv and music, I long for something truly norwegian. All the norwegian we got left in this country is the "bunad" and the "ostehøvel". And the black metal. The last time we truly had a colorful culture was before christianity. I want to hold onto that. It's our history, let's embrace it, not forget it.

  • @JtK27 lol 5 months ago, sorry for the late answer! I'm not saying that we have to force norse mythology back on Norway. Just let the truth come forward, and I believe that christianity will pretty much remove itself. It's a shame that there is still adults today that believe we have a christmas tree in the living room because of Jesus. I understand you mean that change is a natural thing and I can't argue with that. ->

  • @Hanso661 wow, norways not supposed to be unchristian though...

  • @harveydeadman: we're not all americans to say this or that is or was retarded. you haven't got a fucking clue what norway is, social, political or psichologically like. You go grow up in the middle of frost, neverending nothingness, a religion that was forced and a conservative country full of idiot catholic rubbish and then come talk to me about being retarded. Talk talk...
