@SuperNinjaleprechaun That is exactly what I say every time I take a piss.

looking for people to share links. I have a top web site see me at Goldbay.com

@mountdesertrock Yeah. It's a sad state though, that stupidity and ignorance is what adds appeal. I myself would have preferred a more intelligent approach to the show, with people that actually knew what they were doing. I want to see a mining operation, not people bumbling about. I guess this state of modern tv is what caused me to cancel my satellite sub and go totally with netflix long ago. I won't pay to support that trash, though I will torrent it out of morbid curiosity.

@Criterion515 I agree with you 100% the gold rush show is scripted and they have no clue about gold mining in the first place which adds to the appeal of the show to those who crave this reality drama that has taken over modern tv

@Reeda1414 Gold Rush Alaska should not be your "go to" for gold mining information. They themselves had no clue about sluice angles, or even that maybe, just maybe, the sluice needs some matting to catch stuff in to start with (big derp there.. I saw that big hole in the operation glaring at me and went WTF?). That they had to learn this stuff on site.. which is the most basic and readily available info, should give a hint that they were totally clueless and ill prepared from the start.

@SuperJetski1 rule of thumb is drop the box 1" for every foot of box. if the box is 4 feet long, the bottom should be 4" lower than the top. that's not always perfect though, depends on amount and speed of water, but it's a good place to start.

the thing i learned from gold rush alaska is the angle of the sluice box has to be perfect, but not sure for very small ones like the one dhown here though.it has to be just right, the angle, the degree.just handing out tips for all to see.i dont wish to see anyone losing gold cause of a small screw up or mislead info.
I run it pretty much level to about 1.5 " angle it needs a good flow of water .

Greetings,
Was this in California? Saw the water was very fast & clear. Do you classify before feeding into your LeTrap?

California indeed . that sluice likes fast water . I classify down to 1/2" before feeding the sluice.

when I do my clean up I use a a pair of sharp point tweezers to pick out all of the bigger pieces . After that there will still be very fine dust left over and I use a sucker to get the rest. There will be gold dust so small left over i have to use a magnifying glass to see. This thing works very good and so simple to clean out .

@andyv916 i have shitloads of silver specs in my few specs of gold, what should i do with them??? I'm making a miller table, trying chalkboard paint on rubber riffles, and i use a A51A super mini Keene with miners moss..... I have a feeling this gold dust could amount to something if i could only seperate them good enuff! I'll try a magnet too...

The silver specs could be Mercury ? Be sure to pan out the black sands you get with the Magnet you will find gold that the magnet trapped with the black sand . The clean up is the hardest part use a couple of drops of liquid dish soap when you are fine panning in a tub , That will break the surface tension of the water then you wont have small gold flakes floating on the surface spilling out of the pan. Yes Gold floats , at least the small flattened pieces do.
