  • This video is only correct if the person demonstrating the technique is in the southern hemisphere.

    If you are in the northern hemisphere you need to look in the opposite direction. In other words: in the northern hemisphere, dead center between the hour hand and 12 o' clock is SOUTH.

  • i think my watch is broken, its 11-30pm and ive been staggering across a field on the equator with my arm in the air- i cant see the northern lights ANYWHERE!!!!!

  • I just lay on my back naked with wood and the shadow tells me the time, true north and what month it is. This skill has been used by time travelers for thousands of years, also it's a great way to hunt bears. Thank you for your time, that is all.
