Take a visit to one of my favorite places in the world, Rocky Brook Falls, in Brinnon Washington. Shot with a Canon SX20IS with IS on and all other settings to default.
Rocky brook falls is Brinnon's little secret, if you've been there you'll want to go again and again if in the area.
It's surprising to think that the state parks department hasn't built a huge visitor center at this site!!
This is true HD, it takes a while to upload HUGE files like this. As you can see the SX20IS allows for zoom while recording and has a very fast focus while going over complex topography. It also has focus lock if you want to lock it while recording. The zoom can go fast or slow and the camera adjusts almost instantly to changing lighting conditions and motion. I like the zoom on the frothing white-water (my old vid recorder could NEVER focus on that stuff) The still frames are great as well, I was able to capture lots of fall colors, although I recommend using a tripod while shooting still frames with this camera at all times if you want a better chance at your shots coming out clean. I leave the IS (image stabilization) on at all times to get more good shots with each outing.
I have also used my SX20IS to record live practices to test the sound pickup qualities, you have to use the software provided to remove the recorded vids from the camera or the sound will not sinc up with the video during playback. The sound quality from this camera's mics is like being there- very, very, accurate. (as long as you use the software provided)
Using the zoom browser software I added some piano and dropped the sound of the falls a little, I also added the text using the same program.
The pixelations you see in the normal view, are from Youtube's compression, they are not present in the original HD video, also affected was the spray which looks as if during compression it used a "best guess" which caused some blurring of everything and added white to the entire frame. If you want to see it clearer watch it in HD.

Only locals know about this place.. Wonderful place to be at.. You can stand right under the falls.. Warning though very very slippery rocks and trees.
