floorboards bending pitch to dancing feet
bare splintered grasping hands
to drink thick tonic
from this sweet and heavy flesh
escape the heat
and make me sick with the elixir
blinded to the mythic cages
also my sad sorry small and thoughtless panic
not the madness rich with touches
but the lusty clasp of death
that I have seen with my own kicking flesh
to know
that I can stare the whole thing down and eat it up again
because our mother loved us many to be strong
and hungry
free to crack against the limits of our time here
there was a moment when I did not know
that I am cageless
ageless raging fire for within you
so I stayed inside there
