'U.S. Economy Grinds To Halt As Nation Realizes Money Just A Symbolic, Mutually Shared Illusion'
http://www.theonion.com/articles/us-economy-grinds-to-halt-as-nation-realizes...

The Onion is satire, but it perfectly explains the fault with paper money:
""Just look at it: Meaningless pieces of paper with numbers printed on them. Worthless.""

Silver money has value in itself, the markings on it are not even necessary for it to have value.

I found out about Damon Vrabel from Max Keiser:
http://csper.wordpress.com/
"If countries are sovereign, then how could they be required to be in debt to private banking institutions? How could they be so easily attacked by the likes of George Soros, JP Morgan Chase, and Goldman Sachs? Why would they be subjugated to the whims of auctions and traders?"

"most countries are not sovereign. Instead they are administrative districts!"

"We long ago lost the free market envisioned by Adam Smith in the "Wealth of Nations." Such a world would require sovereign currencies, i.e. currencies that are well-regulated rather than floating, and an asset rather than an interest-bearing debt. Only then could there be a "wealth of nations." But now we have nothing but the "debt of nations."

  • If you haven't already, you should watch Damon's video series called Renaissance 2.0. Nothing he says will be earth shattering to you or the people who subscribe to your channel but the way he presents it helped me understand that we cannot try to convert the "unenlightened" without going back and starting the conversation where we can all agree on a basic FACT: All money is created from debt. From there, a real conversation about the theories on how to solve the problems can be had.

  • @Frenchynadeau I have not watched it, I am watching right now. One of the best youtube series I have ever seen!

I highly recommend what Frenchynadeau is talking about for all my subscribers.

  • Mate you just don't get it. We want money to be valueless. The trick is who controls it(issues it). If it is valueless then it is un-controlable. Get it? Its power should come from law not nature, that way we the people(GOV) can keep it in our power and use it for our own benifit without debt. Stop falling for their old tricks. Go read some economic history for petes sake.

  • Joe :) you are just so wonderfully intelligent. I have placed a link to this video into my (Sound Money by The Fiat Lizards) video. Your explanation shows both academic & emotional intelligence, especially towards the end. Respect :)

  • @Frenchynadeau Well said. Vrabel broke my heart when he left the game. His work is enlightening. Bill Still's work is also brilliant.

  • Gold is valuable, sure, as is a car, steak and penecilin, but gold backed / "sound" money is a decoy a red herring leanding into a trap (out of the frying pan into the fire). Most of the money is not paper but credit/debt by private banks lending, we need to avoid paying usury to have money we need, gold is almost a garantee people dont understand the money racket which is not a function of what its made of. Cant explain but look into it or keep it on the back burner as a maybe

  • Great vid! Thx :)

  • I think you found the rallying cry for a new monetary system: "Real things for real things!"

  • you make some great points, however your voice is so overwhelmingly nauseating that I could only watch about a minute of this video before I started getting a nose-bleed. I think you need to work on your delivery...

  • not to sound so dumb. but ur dumb, think about it. just think. money system is flawed, but also perfect.
