I saw another video where the dude filled the PVC frame with water and used that as his thermal mass. That would give you more room for egg boxes.

Do you just trust the temp on the thermostat, or do you put another thermometer in there?
Have you ever used spiderrobotics thermostats ? I wanted to know if their thermostats are more procise and durable then Helix ?
Thanks

I have several spider robotics thermostats but they're on my cages. I've never used them on the incubator. The helix basic units have never failed me so I've just continued using them.

why dont you make a fortuna and sell them

There are a few reasons... the least of which are a relatively small market and logistics issues with parts suppliers. I just thought I'd share the idea for others who wish to build one for themselves.

How much would all this cost? Do you have to refill the water regularly cause of vapor? Have you ever bread ball Pythons before? If so, is it possible to get diff. morphs breeding a normal X normal?

It's been a while since I built the ones I use, but I think the incubator ran about $300 (including thermostat, air pump, heat element, shelving, pans, air lines, fans, electrical connections, cooler, and plexiglass).
I currently have a single ball python that I've had for about 15 years but I've never tried to breed the species. Normals X normals will make more normals. Thanks for the questions!
