wow this is really usefull i was in two minds about getting the 550D or a \d90 for video purposes, but maybe ill just wait and fork out for a proper 24p cam thanks

do you add the black bars in post-editing..because when i export my movie files they don´t get the blackbars widescreen thing

@ForeverFire They were in there on accident, I didn't know what I was doing when I was editing. The footage that comes out is 1280x720, normal 720p.

I'm watching this to gauge the quality of the D90 in vid mode and I was pleasantly surprised. I saw Chase Jarvis do the same thing but wanted to watch it in an amateur setting. thanks for taking the time.
I wasn't looking for Tak Fujimoto quality video here.
Maybe it's just me then.

As I understand it, the video in newer Nikons is much improved, but it'll take a pretty big step up to get me and my production camera seperated!
