Being prepared for some kind of extended natural disaster is not a bad idea, but being prepared for the SHTF scenario in the classic definition is a whole different ball game. Stocking food, weapons, water and what-not, and having a "fortified" home is a very very flawed strategy when it comes to survival. You might fend off the odd invader, but if a competent group makes a concerted effort to take you down, you are either going to run, or you are going to die in that house.

@rodlpz actually its not a myth, im not talking a few months or so,im talking about, if you leave the ags fully loaded for a year and a half, you will loose about half a pound of force from the spring, leave it for 10 years ad its dost likely to be dead. its important to see how long they test it for too, 8 months, you wont notice u, but afew years you will. If your saying that this does not happen, you are also saying that metal will not bend when under force. Of course it will bend over time.

@440charger2 this is actually a myth. America Handgunner magazine did an extensive article on this.

I have one of the "Stack On" gun safes and it is very good for what it was designed for and that is to keep children, curious adolescents and un-informed adults out of harms way when it comes to picking up a firearm. If you're worried about fire or theft add your guns to your homeowners insurance policy... which isn't a bad idea no matter what safe you may have.

Have you ever watched videos about how if you keep your magazines loaded while in storage it hurts them, the springs in the mags bend into the compact form
