I got this design from the RC Powers website as a PDF file. This model is my second F-117. The first plane flew, but it didn't have enough power. I built the second plane and added a lot of modifications to the frame in the way of more carbon rods, larger motor, and a easier opening battery compartment. Both planes had problems with CG and they would fly if you got it right, but always seemed tail heavy. I'm not going to try another one, and I'm moving on to a dual motor foamie biplane. Something with real wings.

  • expo or dual rates. Im running the hobbyking 6channel and I set the ailerons around 30% and elevators at 100%. That helps that narrow wingspan fly reasonably controllable.

    A HK 6ch only costs around $30

  • @Cjudd001

I agree with you about all that, but I gave up on the F117. I may get back to it sometime, but I burned all my prototypes because they were all crashed.

  • i always fly arf kits with real wings and i have many that are fun to fly i have to agree that the 1 plane i flew with flat wings was a poor performer compaired to a real wing shape

  • The F-117 is a lifting body, the problem is with the roll axis. It is very easy to roll. Check out my biplane vids. It has flat wings, but it is easy to fly and has lots of lift and power to get out of any screw-up you may do.

  • Try my design f1-18 (DEATH STAR) come check it out chrisallen1074. RC powers who?

  • Thanks for the comment wildhover, I'm off on another project right now, its an electric dual engine flying wing with retracts, but I may get back to the F117. If I do, it's going to be bigger than the last one. I like the idea of the expo and the KFm2, I can see were they would help the stability.

  • i agree, i crashed 2 of these planes before figuring out it's flying characteristics. i used 30% expo on the ailerons to fix the wild roll rate. I suggest KFm2's on the wings just like pstarxxx78 mentioned above. this plane has become one of my favorites and is easy for me to fly now that it's dialed in. you can even check out my videos on me progressing from crashes to successfully flying it. i say give it another go

  • dont give up. daves plane is not ez 2 fly. very roll happy. but once u master it. its awesome. try puting a kF foil on the wing. it will add tons of lift. but it wont roll so good. makes it stay up right. if you want pic of my build. ill e-mail you them.

  • Luke was, once again, the best part of the video. His unique talents and super soft head make him very mulit-facited in his performing abilities.

  • What the hell was that?
