If I recall correctly, their shooting those rounds to make sure it's accurate and it performs correctly...so you don't god forbid have to pay for another GAU-8 if this one breaks down because of poor maintenance.

Aviation, ignore the trolls. I was 25B in the US Army, and I pay taxes so I can make sure that these boys can save my ass when need be.

Everyone blames the military for "using our tax dollars" You forget that WE pay taxes too. So what, are we paying our own salary? And what are we supposed to do when there's no money left to fund us.
