the E.T of Cars ... that car looks so Evil LOL

The only thing that's changed from then until now is the intellect of the comsumer...thank God. At least now we when we're told it's rain, we know it's the wrong color....lol.

This is way before my time, My dad would have been ten or so when this commercial aired. But wow, I never heard of swiveling seats before. Try to find that in any of the common currently made cars today, Heh.

Who is the announcer? He sounds like the late John Facenda, who was a longtime Philadelphia anchor and the original voice of NFL Films (before Jeff Kaye took over in the mid-80s)...

@monaco74 Hey, have you ever seen a '61 Plymouth? Talk about an angry car!
-
Front end looks like it would eat small children!

DANG!! That '59 buggy was THE CAR OF THE FUTURE!!
It's a shame that the technology didn't exist in the day to place one of those sleds on the Moon's surface -- to send a strong message to future generations and outer planets that we are not a force to be reckoned with.
I’d sleep better at night knowing a Dodge was suspended in the heavens overlooking our welfare, and you would too.

I would ALMOST trade my 56' Mercury wagon for this one! But,nnaaa, I will keep the wagon! This is a gorgeous car, when American cars were made with quality! And accelerator pedals didn't stick like,uh, Prius's!

@56Mercgal actually, Ford had some problems during the late 50's with throttle wires getting stuck on some engines, causing the same effect as if the gaspedal was stuck. Chrysler had another problem on the DeSoto where the brake pedal lost all force, and gave no effect. ;)

I LOVE the front end! The car just looks pissed off and angry because of the eyebrow trim over the headlights that furrow downward toward the center.

I love every angle of the car, but you are right - it looks very aggressive.

I think this car would have been better in the movie "Christine". It looks meaner than the Plymouth.

nah, christine was the car of a teenager. the sport fury was a sportscar. but I agree with you; the front looks very aggressive.
