old VHS camera and Mobile preamp connected to a cheap video recorder through a strange system of cables.. i'm working on the sound, seems like its impossible to record anything with decent sound quality unless you have really expensive equipment.. You can record on the computer, the sound quality is better, but video is almost always out of sync with the sound..
i've been thinking about getting the m-audio mobile pre usb. your video description sounds as if you were not content with it (if i got it right). So could you please tell me what disturbs you? because i'm not sure which interface to buy

yeah i know what you mean, I have tried something similar to that, i recorded audio in cool edit and video separately with.. virtual dub i think it's called? i was able to sync everything and get good sound quality but it was just too much pain and distraction from playing music.. Right now i'm soddering a cable that would allow my to take video input from my camcoder and audio from my preamp and plug it into my cheap aiptek digital camcoder.. This clip here is recorded this way..

I record the sound with the computer and at the same time record the video with my (cheap) dv cam. This limits to be infront of the computer equipment while recording but the sound quality is very good (m-audio firewire 410) and finished recording it is easy to sync the video with the audio using Sony Vegas. So it can be done. The thing is not to record the audio and video on the computer simultaniously. Good luck!
