Here are two amazing Harpists from Australia practicing the 2nd movt for Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. The Harp part for this is VERY HARD! Domenica (1st) Leah (2nd). I played 1st Oboe in the concert and they were great!

  • @amiharp: I was referring to wrists on the soundboard and the hand position and shape. I don't play with 'military' elbows either. I wouldn't know based on the fingerings, but fingerings and overall technique aren't the same thing. Point is, they are playing a very difficult piece very well, regardless of what method they use. I was just responding to someone else's post based on what I observed.

  • @flootloops : actually seeing the fingering the harpists are using it looks like Mrs Chalifoux markings. I played this with Salzedo markings and the 2nd harpists is using the markings I have from Mrs Chalifoux.

Not all Salzedo student play with Military elbows, Not even Salzedo.

  • I commend You 2nd harpist :P I feel like my 4th finger is about to fall off when i play that part.

    Excellent!

  • I'm trying to listen for it in my recording of Symphonie Fantastique....but it's just not audible!!!

  • very difficult harp part........when you master it, you've become a HARPIST !!

  • omg

  • i love this symphonie played with a harp it's different.

secondly you feel the rithme and it's very important that.

Finally you play harp with relax and it's the most important thing in music but there much people that can't do the same.

    congratilations.

post others symphonies in youtube to see. thanks:)

  • God Bless you two!!!! very beautiful! congratulations! very amazing!
