Thanks for posting this. I was born and raised in Canton (I'm 35). I live close to downtown and drive by the downtown area on a daily basis. It's 100 times worse now than what you show on your home video. It would be great if you could make a new video and drive on the same roads to show the difference.

I turned 10 years old that day!

Pretty cool to have a real video from back at that time. "Nostalgisized!"

Loved the ride! Thanks for bringing back memories for me!

Great video...thanks for posting!
-
It literally has not changed one bit in almost 30 years lmao...just a bit older

I always think the parking garage at 6:30 is going to fall down at any moment. I guess it's been standing for a long time now but for some reason I have a feeling if you filled it up with modern SUV's it would crumble.

Thanks for the trip about town! It was fun! i Love Canton

Thanks for posting this! I was just 10 when we moved to FL, but I still remember a few of the landmarks in this video. And since it was shot only a few years after we left, that's how I remember it!

Sometimes, I miss Canton. I grew up there.

Great video! It's sad to see some of the buildings that were lost, the hotel beside the courthouse was a neat old building. Aside from a few things I would argue that Canton is looking much better these days. The Mckinley home is looking great and so is most of Market Ave North. A lot of street and sidewalk improvements have added nice rows of trees. There is a lot happening with the arts and the Onesto is being converted to apartments. It's not perfect, but it's definitely improving.
-
One of the few improvements that have been made recently is the litle park that's sprung from the demolition of the Kresge Block, and a mini Arts district has kind of sprung up.

It was pretty back then, now if you go through these areas shown in this video, it looks ghetto, filthy, and just dirty
