@KronnangDunn 100 American ships? Really? Not even close. It was 11 aircraft carriers, 386 aircraft, 6 battleships, several cruisers and destroyers. The ships had no contact during the sinking of the Yamato. It was an air war. The planes launched from the U.S. ships sank her.

@abcabcabc5000 actually twice. The first time is when Arizona, Aisle of Sky, and Bismark was ordered to take off. It showed Arizona taking off. The second time is the one you mentioned. The wreck.

The writers did pretty well guessing a 10th and 11th planet, astronomers in the last 10 years or so have discovered eight large TNO's, (trans neptunean objects)
though they're classified as dwarf planets, and demoted Pluto to a dwarf planet too!

Everytime I hear the Comet Empire theme I can't help but think there's a slave chained to an organ playing it.

I'm glad the upcoming live action film has elements from the second season as well...

@KronnangDunn Ten-Go operation
Actually the Yamato is the largest battlesip ever made and it was the symbol and proud of the whole japanese navy. It was pretty advanced for its time and was sunk in a heroic but suicidal battle where it and a small force of 10 japanese escorts faced 100 american ships that also had air support... I recommend the movie "Men of Yamato" to get a taste of World War II from Japan's point of view.
